Research Topic

Hi all,

In preparation for our next library orientation on Monday morning, please take a little time this weekend to post a paragraph about your proposed research topic. Tell us what you are thinking of doing (your topic) and the five research questions you have identified as a starting point to your research. Please remember, try not to choose a topic that is strictly descriptive, i.e. giving information only. Much better would be a problem, issue, question to be answered, etc. - in other words, a specific focus. Of course you will still be able to modify and refine your topic when you start your search, but it will really help if you have given it a little serious thought beforehand.

Once you have posted your topic, check out a few of your classmates blogs and give them some feedback on their choices. You might also want to look at one of the online encyclopedias like Wikipedia to get some general information before we hit the library.

In closing, I wish you all a great weekend. Get out there and enjoy the first days of spring, but please set aside a little time for me - i.e. your homework.

See you at the library on Monday morning, 9:00 am sharp.

Happy weekend all!

Evolution Summary

Hi all,

I hope that Friday the 13th has treated you well. Just a few things to remember before you email me your summaries. First, please make sure you double-space, format nicely and above all, self-edit before you hit the send key! (i.e. make it teacher-friendly, please!) I would like your papers by noon on Sunday, but earlier is better.

Have a good weekend all. See you on Monday.
